Testimony
I fasted with the men of Gideon's Army the first time in 2004, and it has changed my life forever. You just can't understand how it feels unless you are there to experience it. We spend three days and three nights together with nothing to do except read the Bible, Pray and seek God's face with worship and ministry. It usually takes a little time for the guys to let down their guard and allow the walls to come down. When God does that work, which happens first, then the guys begin to see their needs and to see what God desires to do in there lives. It's hard to express the feeling of men walking together in unity, but when it happens, God comes down and then we as men begin to see how far we are from where God wants us to be. If you have a desire to be a Godly man and to take part in making sure that we have a good future for our children and those we love, then now is the time to act. Join us to be part of Gideon's Army to stand in the gap and chase the enemy of our soul off of the ground that the LORD has given to us, and to drive him out of our country.

The fast renewed my passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. It greatly encouraged
and strengthened me in my role as a husband, father and brother. It convicted me
in areas I need to change or grow in, and enables me to do so. It gave me
strength and boldness to be a better soldier for Christ and make an impact
on those around me.

Well, where do I begin? The Lord has done such awesome things in my life. The
time of fasting with this group of men ( God's minutemen) has been such a
blessing in my life. My Christian walk with the Lord has steadily grown each and
every year. Each year, (this will be my fourth fast with God's minutemen) I have
had an increased awareness of God's presence, and a new insight on who God is
and what he expects of us. I have found progressively more, and more, that God
cannot use us as Christians unless we are willing to be sold out for Him and to
live lives of Godliness, righteousness, and cleanness before the Lord. The time
with the Lord and other Godly men has caused me to search my heart, and say,
Lord, is there anything in my life that needs to be changed? Here I am, use me.
For those of you who might be reading this and wondering whether or not to come,
I would say this to you? If you are not ready to get serious about Jesus and
serving him, and giving your all to him, and laying down your sin, and
selfishness at the altar, do not come. However, if you are ready to change your
life and be sold out, and to go all the way with God, by all means, do not miss
this. What an opportunity!!!!!!!

Here is my testimony of the fast. I think its pretty neat the way when we all get together, how all the men are of one heart. Also it gives me time to refocus on the Lord. Its a time to see what the Lord is doing in my life. The Lord showed me how wretched I really was. How selfish and jealous I am without His help. The Lord also showed me how I'm a workaholic and I don't spend the time I need to spend with my wife. So I'm grateful for this time to refocus my life so I can be more loving to those around me. The Lord has used this fast to change my life. I’ve been challenged by the strengths that I see in different men that have come. It’s been a great time to refocus, and adjust my priorities. The fast of 2006 was an extremely new thing to me. I didn't really know what to expect, but I went believing that God was going to do good things to and for me and the other men. It was the first three day water only fast that I had ever done before. Through the fast, God really opened my eyes to things I still allowed into my life and gave me the courage to fight. Lust was deeply rooted within me and I was encouraged and equipped to defeat sin with the help of God and my brothers. This is my testimony

This will be the third fast that I have attended. There is an intense excitement and anticipation to go on the fast again this year. Especially seeing what the Lord has done the previous two years. The Lord broke the stronghold that tobacco had on my life. Since the fast I haven’t thought about using the tobacco because Jesus made me free. The Lord showed me things about myself that I never knew. Just being on the fast has helped me to go on with the Lord. It was awesome to have brothers to pray, to worship, and be in the presence of the Lord with. I encourage you not to miss what the Lord is doing.
